#1 Fear

We all have fears, some stronger than others but what scares you so much that you consider it your number one fear?
I thought of this while I was just facing mine....a daddy long-legs dared to invade my room and after much time spent sitting there watching it, in case it runs away before I get the courage up to do something about it, the deed was finally done. Luckily this time it didn't involve screaming, but usually it does. It had also managed to build a mini web in a spot I thoroughly dusted just two days ago. Even webs are scream worthy.
Then starts the thought that its little friends are watching all this and thinking, 'you killed my brother, prepare to die!' *shivers* There is a tiny one on my roof which doesn't move (not when I'm around anyway) that I now share the place with since it's too high for me to get and spraying it would merely cause it to fall down, and then who knows where it will disappear to. No, I'm happier with it where it is, and if one day I get the courage up, it will go too.
Then of course, I have to jump in the shower straight away, just in case for some strange reason something managed to get on me. All in all a long process much more complicated than simply spraying it/swatting it and getting it over and done with.
The girl I share my apartment with has the same level of fear with cockroaches, but not spiders. She can help me with those. Good thing too, since I am scared of those as well, but can still deal with them, unlike the paralyzing fear of being faced with a spider.
I know I have issues with these things, my mother finds it terribly embarrassing that I will scream whenever I see one but she has the same fear of lizards and will react in the same way if she sees one.
What is your number one fear and how do you deal with it?
