A case of dizziness
July 25th 2009 05:47
Wow, I just logged in and realised just how long it has been since I've posted something.
I will endeavour to improve this. I will say that illness has kept me away, not a lack of wanting to contribute to Orble. I've come to think of Orble as my little part of the web where I can keep a portfolio of sorts of my writing and share opinions with others.
I've been plagued with dizziness on a daily basis and being dizzy isn't something that can make one productive, quite the opposite actually. This has been going on for at least a year now but became harder to deal with as time went on. Many visits to the doctor and tests later, there are still no answers.
One doctor told me it was low blood pressure and I made sure to eat better, which seemed to actually cause an improvement. My ears/sinuses had left me alone briefly and it must have been this which caused the improvement because the dizziness merely increased once my sinuses and ears began to bother me again. I hope it is all related anyway, I'd hate for there to be something else going on although the doctors tell me it is related.
Another doctor told me I have blocked Eustachian tubes and chronic sinusitis, which may be close to the mark as the problems with my ears and sinuses are constant.
Popping at random moments, crackling, sensitive to sounds, muffled sounds, tinnitus, a feeling of fullness in my ears and sinuses, always feeling blocked up and post-nasal drip...along with the thing that has almost ruined my life this past year, dizziness. It's not an easy symptom to deal with and I still have no answers.
I just began a new course of treatment with nasal spray and allergy meds, and the doctor has finally given me a referral to a specialist. I wish I could have referred myself to one all this time but I guess I will see what happens at the appointment with the ENT.
If anyone has gone through anything similar I'd love to hear your story.

Boy, it sounds like I'm complaining, doesn't it? I'm really not. I've adapted to the difficulties so have my friends and family. The trick to dealing with any problem is to not let it get you down, find ways to cope with it and don't lose your sense of humor.
As I said, I hope yours turns out better than mine...

Right now my other difficulties have been plaguing me and I can barely walk. I have 2 dogs, a cat, 18 chickens, 3 calves and a horse to deal with. Fortunately I have the help of my nieces and grand nephew (temporarily at least). I also work with my computer and have written two novels in the last 2 months. I'm working on a third book as we speak. I'd love to veg around, but it isn't likely to happen anytime soon.
