Aracno and other phobias

Everyone has fears, of course they do, but the really trendy people, they get over them, shove them to the side, act inspite of them, and live a more interesting life.
Yes, that's right, beating your phobias is way trendy. How many of you out there have ever catapulted yourself out of an airplane and hoped your 'chute opened? How many people have traversed raging white water rapids, or been thrown out into the churning rapids only to have to travel their length without the protection of your vessel?
How many people conquer phobias on a daily basis? Have you killed a spider in your home even though just the thought of a spider makes you want to scream and flick a hand through your hair to make certain nothing is sitting on you? Have you traveled down a four-lane highway at rush hour when you just got your "L" or "P" plates? Have you gotten on an airplane latley and braved the flight and the trip to a destination unknown? Have you moved in with a partner or a friend even though you were afraid it might not work?
Every phobia has been validated by experience, hear-say, legend, or dream. Everyone fears something, small or little, understandable or not. I hate to fly, but I love to travel, I hate to be lonely, but I love the excitement of a new destination, I hate bugs, but I love the tropics... for every fear there is a desire, and every desire you let slide out of reach because you put a phobia between its realization and yourself is a life less large.
What's the saying? Go big or go home? Yeah, that--trendy is never saying "I wish I had..."
