DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS?

November 9th 2006 06:55
Ok, so i've got a one track mind and it seems to be evident by my "thematic" postings. I can't help it though, trendy is paying attention to the world, and the world is looking good today.

Yesertday I voiced some long-pent-up satisfaction with the state of humanity in the world. Today I continue to affirm that sentiment. A recent look at CNN.COM to see if the senate race has been decided for good yet and though the word is still officially out, the liklihood of the US sentate going democratic is big. Really big!

Nevermind that Rumsfeld resigned, an action I believe has SERIOUS implications about the mind-frame of the republicans, the democrats might actually take both the house AND the senate. WOW. As for Rumsfeld, well his resignation signals something huge to me. Something besides the fact that it was about time. His resignation means the republicans are timid. They're not sure what the implications of a democratic congress will mean for them, but they're not too happy with the ambiguity. It might mean a lot of personal embarrassment, a lot of investigations, and quite possibly a LOT of legal inquiry. I believe that is why Rumsfeld hightailed it out of there. He wasn't about to let the dems destroy him and he couldn't bet that they wouldn't. The implication is this, and its huge: the republicans believe that the democrats are going to USE this shift in power. They're not going to sit back and let business as usual dominate the scene, they're gonna motivate and do something.

I can't wait to see what the democrats do!!

Oh and Brit and K-Fed are officially getting a divorce according to the news as well, ya see what i'm saying about trendy? You gotta pay attention!

Let's just hope the Democrats really exercise their power. Some writer once said (I forgot who) that the Dems are just Republicans in disguise because of their tendency to shy away from confronting the GOP. I hope the new Senate bites Dubya in the ass.

Totally true. The Dems are sort of pussies when it comes to taking their stand, holding a hard line etc. I think with the MASSIVE shift in voting patterns this election (hell, the democratic candidate in IDAHO, yeah, IDAHO got something like 48% of the vote) we are more likely than ever to see something get accomplished. Nevermind that both houses are in our control!! anyway, they're there, so here's hoping
