A Hispanic a Woman and an African-American are stranded in a boat....
the boat's name is AMERICAN POLITICS, and the question is who stands the greatest chance of being elected to serve as captain?
I LOVE IT!!
Look, i think its risky, REALLY risky, but i love it. When all the cards are stacked against you, you can play it safe, pull out a move that will help you win or you could risk it, pick the riskiest hand you can play with any chance of winning and hope that you can pull it off.
To me, its ultimately important to see a democrat be elected in 2008. But how great would it be if that democrat was not just a dem, but a woman, an african american man, or a hispanic man?!
The negative campaign isn't gonna be too hard to imagine though. We're bound to see ads about PMS and questionable sexuality, family values (from another era!), tirades about making spanish an official language of the United States and more underhand religious stereotyping about the questions over Barak Huessein Obama's affiliations and loyalties.
Can we win it? I think it would be a damn shame if we didn't. I think we'd really show them if we did! Afterall, why haven't we had a female chief exec? Or an African-American or Hispanic man? What happened to our melting pot, our tossed-salad. Changing up the status quo...big time trendy!!
