HAIL in Canberra
February 28th 2007 06:39
I remember watching the film THe Day After Tomorrow when i was living in New Zealand. I remember enjoying it (and feeling guilty for that) and then making fun of the title and the doom with some friends who had come along for the indulgent evening of bad movies.
Where were you the day before yesterday?
How will you survive two days from tomorrow?
Do you remember three days from today?
etc.
anyhow, last night on my way home from an equally terrible (ok, not equally it was FAR FAR WORSE) movie i found myself bogged down by ice. yes, it was hailing in canberra in the summertime and it was chaos.
To make the most of a bad situation my flatties and I took a midnight walk to survey the damange, romp in the hail, and have a little fun. That's pretty trendy, making the best out of a flooded apartment, and a crazy climactic anomaly.
Enjoy your "snow day" Canberrans. everyone else---you missed your chance of stumbling onto the set of the Day After Tomorrow
