Pet peeve for the day

Who has walked through the food court of a shopping centre and seen babies being given Coke, Pepsi and who knows what else by parents who don't seem to know better?
It's not my place to say anything about what people give their kids of course, but I'm sorry, Coke is not a drink for a 1 year old. Why would a 1 year old need a carbonated drink? And then they wonder why their kids teeth rot early. Not only that but carbonated drinks aren't healthy in general and I'm sure toddlers don't need an extra sugar buzz anyway!
It's just something that you see that makes you think "why?" Add this consumption of carbonated drinks to the fast food also being fed to kids and you see exactly where Australia's problem with childhood obesity comes from.
