Taking a bear to court?
March 21st 2008 03:00
I thought I had heard it all until I heard about this. A court in FYROM (I refuse to call the country by the other name it uses, which was also used in the original article) has found in the favour of a beekeeper that had honey stolen and damage to his beehives....by a bear. That's right, a bear. A bear with no owner. Who is going to pay the damages? The state of course. So the state has to pay the $3500 in damages and hopefully the bear will behave himself in future or he may be taken to court again. All other animals beware!
